I was very relectuctant to upgrade but decided that i had no option. I chose the 2nd gen instead of the newer version due to its connectivity and i have not been disappointed. It’s super fast, smooth os and with ethernet connection and as card it connects seamlessly to content and i have more than enough storage. You wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the certified refurbished device from a new one.

Simply for the reason they are just as fast but have the ethernet connection built in, a micro sd memory slot for extra memory and a usb slot. All these have been removed from the newer version. You can buy an ethernet adapter for the current fire tv and firestick but that’s more money and another ugly little box to plug in. It also still has the screen adjustment which the new generation sticks don’t have (any screen adjustment has to be made on the television itself). Not sure if the new fire tv boxes still have this feature or not. Compared with the past version and current version of firestick i’ve found it to be much quicker and more responsive. This could be down to being connected to ethernet broadband but whatever it’s a great box.

Btw, download “downloader” from the amazon store then through that app download the aptoid apps store app with typing “http://troypoint. Com/app”, you have have access to the aptoid store and can then download thinks like kodi directly and a decent youtube app.
