We bought the wr238 when its price dropped to a penny short of forty squid – this looked like a bargain. The user manual supplied with the wr238 could do with more pictures to help explain certain tasks such as setting up memory presets for radio stations. Favourite radio stations can be managed by signing up and registering the radio at the mediau portal. There is no mention of this in the user manual. You will need the wireless mac address by navigating through the radio’s menus to: information center ->system configuration ->wireless ->mac address. Also check the setting is enabled: configuration ->manage my mediau ->enabled. Use a web browser and search for mediau or mediayou to find the portal. Once you sign into the portal, you will be able to register your wr238 radio with portal.

    I had problems setting it up mainly because the manual is to small to read even with a magnifying glass but i located a german pdf version translated it via google and increased the sizei used to replace a very old pure receiver and plugged it into the tuner input on my denon av amp i am very impressed with the result but for the dab aerial but this can be fixed.

    The set up is easy and the controls are good to use. The sound is excellent as is the range of radio stations available. My husband is severely sight impaired and i want to say a big thank you to kevin, who took the time and trouble to find and add some of his favourite stations for him. The only criticism is that the items frequently arrive damaged in the mail (royal mail in this instsnce).

    Great little internet radio and alarm clock. Very easy to connect to wifi and so easy to search for stations. Love the fact that you get to see the radio station logo as well as the details of the track being played. Before purchase i had some concern about the use as an alarm clock, as i thought the numbers would be tiny- but most surprisingly the numbers fit the screen thus making this a fantastic little clock. It also charges my phone overnight. It makes my previous internet radio look like a relic from bygone times. So i just might have to purchase one for each bedroom now.

      1. It compliments my old bose wave radio beautifully equipping it with dab, internet radio and bluetooth capabilities. I love the colour display and it also features a proper external antenna connection so i can connect it to my external aerial. There is a similar product to this on the market which only has a built-in telescopic antenna and no aerial socket which would be no use to me. Fast response when buttons are pushed on the included decent sized remote control with zero lag. This unit is very slim so i can place it at the front of a shelf and still store items behind it. It sounds great also (via my bose wave radio used as an amplifier) as the unit does not have any built in speaker(s). Fills a gap in the market particularly for users who prefer to still use their vintage or favourite audio equipment and gain the additional benefits this unit has to offer. It gets a thumbs up from me.

    I bought this unit to replace a freecom musicpal device which had suddenly died. Very pleased,easy to set up, easy to operate, vast selection of stations and good sound using with my quad amplification and monitor audio speakers. I would recommend if using with good hi fi.

    1. Brilliant product just what i need. I liked it so much i bought the more expensive one with optical output which sounds a lot better on the toslink. I have not been able to find my favour station magic 105. 4 on the internet list but the dab one works fine. If you select the bluetooth output and connect my iphone 7 by bluetooth i only get sound from the 2. There is no output from the optical output. The optical output works fine in the rest of the modes internet radio, dab, fm, etc.

    Quick delivery and well packaged. It’s a bit naff if truth be known, the interface is not great, but it works well and the sound quality of better than average.
