My old xenta wireless receiver packed up this week, and i found this fitted the bill (although it was twice the price). But this system has 2 wired ir receiver and blaster, for easier positioning. It only took a few minutes to connect up, and was sending the sky hd channels to the bedroom in no time. The picture and sound is as good as you could expect, plus the channel changing is a vast improvement in speed and action. My only concern would be the range this could send the pictures, as on start up in shows your signal strength (50%), and the bedroom is directly above the transmitter (6ft). But with this signal strength, there is occasional picture breakup, but it soon reconnects the picture and sound.
Rather expensive and not a great wireless signal. I have 2 receivers, both only about 5 meters from the transmitter (upstairs room) signal is rather week and drops the picture occasionally between scenes. Also remote over this unit is very temperamental.
We wanted to receive sky+ hd programs on our kitchen tv but were not keen on paying for a second sky box. It would also have been difficult to have a phone line connected to the second box and to even put the box anywhere convenient. We did extensive research and looked at a number of options. We nearly went down the route of connecting the aerial to the back of the sky box with the signal then going up to a distribution amplifier and back down to the kitchen. However, the two main issues we had with this were 1) the picture would not be hd and 2) we would lose the aerial input into our hdd recorder and the freeview into the main tv, so be entirely dependent on the sky channels. The issue of only being able to watch the same sky channel/recording as what is on the main tv is not a problem for us. I was slightly concerned about the wireless solution due to signal reliability, and indeed a cable would be better (though totally impractical) as the picture does occasionally freeze, but it is not very often and only very brief. The initial setup for the boxes was very easy – literally ‘plug and play’ – and by changing slightly the orientation of the boxes the reception is improved. However, despite the two boxes only being about 5 or 6 meters apart (albeit there being two stone walls between them) the signal is only just strong enough. Having read some of the other reviews i was expecting a much stronger signal.
It is expensive product and give the price paid it was not a smooth sailing to get it to work. The signal strength is not very good. I had source in one room and we wanted to receive in another adjacent room diagonally opposite. The line of sight was therefore crossing a thick wall at acute angle. I know that will cause some drop but not as much as i expected. It worked for few days but then signal kept dropping and receiver will lose connection every now and then. To fix it i had to do a major diy project with hdi cables and bring the source in the same room as receiver in direct line of sight 5-6 m apart with no wall in between. Even then i don’t see “green” signal strength but at least the transmission is better and without disconnection. However every now and then the picture gets pixelated and distorted. This does appear to be a software compression decompression issue.

I was a bit wary due to some of the low ratings, however i love this bit of kit. Yes it’s pricey and probably would have been cheaper to get the sky multiroom package but i wanted it for the kitchen tv and there is no room for a sky box on my kitchen worktop. Transmits diagonally through 2 walls with no problem. Had a slight bit of concern to start with as there was some awful audio feedback on the kitchen tv – however i logged onto the provision troubleshooting webpage and found my issue. I just had to go into my sky tv audio settings and tweak something – hey presto it’s been working beautifully for about 6 weeks. Just wish i’d ordered hdmi cables from amazon at the same time as i paid £25 in curries. Now going to order a second receiver for my bedroom :-)seems to be two camps for this equipment – either you’re lucky and it works perfectly or it doesn’t work at all. Very happy i belong in the forma.
After buying and returning several different makes of this system, i’ve found one that actually works. These may be a little more expensive than most, but they do as they claim. They have a pass through, so you can watch your main tv, while some one can watch the same image on a remote set in another room, with only. Great picture quality as well. If there is any loss of quality, it is so minimal that it’s not noticeable. Great product and i’m very pleased with it.
I think the nature of this kind of device is that if it works for you, in your particular circumstances, you will love it. If it doesn’t, well, how top give a fair score?i knew when i bought this that i might be pushing it in terms of range and thick walls between transmitter and receiver and that has turned out to be the case. When it works, it is astonishing – absolutely no visible degradation in the signal, easy to change channels remotely, first class. The trouble is, if you are on the edge of the useable range, then the constant breaking up of the signal is too difficult to watch. I suspect this is an excellent piece of technology but unfortunately for me, in my circumstances, it doesn’t hold a good enough signal to make it viable.
I had to get a new one as the new virgin box does not have a scary port only hdmi. Had a slight problem on day 2 as it stopped recieving so i turned the sender off and then on again. Then i repositioned the receiver and it works perfectly. Old remote control works with no problems.
Strong signal in a small boxsend skyhd from lounge to bedroom and operate the sky box (in lounge) from the bedroom. I love the idea, but tried 2 other similar products and they failed. I have thick walls and numerous ‘wireless’ products creating interference (according to the other manufacturers). This resulted in either no images being received or loads of buffering/juddering – basically unwatchable tellysaw reviews for provision, stating it had strong signal, hdmi pass-through (no need for an expensive hdmi splitter box) and some cleverness that optimised performance so decided to give it a go. 1st thing i noticed, small boxes. Was a bit concerned that they wouldn’t have the power needed, but the results were amazing2nd thing i noticed, a selection of power adaptors. One for eu, uk and us (nice touch that). 3rd thing – it’s very easy to set-up.You will need 2 hdmi cables though, one from the transmitter to the tv in the lounge and another from the receiver to the tv in the bedroom.
We previously used a vga kit with our sky + box, however this was made obsolete when we upgraded to sky q. We wanted something which would be able to send the picture in full hd and retain the audio quality. The boxes themselves are slim and pretty small so can be placed at the back of the tv stand out of site. The instructions themselves were clear, however we did initially encounter a issue with the wifi channel this uses (it utilises 5ghz band). After a quick search on their online help section i was quickly able to upgrade the firmware (took about 2 minutes total) and then also changed the default channel through a simple code change (took 10 seconds to do). The units themselves take a good minute to establish a connection when turning on each time, during which the brand logo is displayed on the tv. Once a connection is established it transmits with comparable quality to that of the tv in the living room. An extra two hdmi cables will be needed in addition to these boxes, one to connect to the transmitter box, and one to connect to the receiver box. I haven’t tried the ir function yet, as i use the remote app through my phone to change channels, however i will update this review once this feature is tested.
Works for me, giving a good clean picture from lounge to bedroom directly above. A bit fiddly to set up, and the rest supplied to hold it up doesn’t really help much. It takes a few minutes to power-up and connect, so it’s best left switched on, and it takes a few seconds to recognise source input and pass it through. The receiver tends to disconnect when not used for a while, and requires power-cycling to reconnect, which takes a few minutes and can be frustrating.
The provision wireless hd system took around ten minutes to unpack and set up which was very easy to do. Initially i did have a few minor problems with signal drop out and picture break up after around twenty minutes use. I found some very helpful information on the manufacturers web site and managed to change the channel that the transmitter and receiver work on to avoid interference with my broadband router. Also i updated the software on the units to the latest version. I’m pleased to say that this fully resolved the issue. I can now fully control my virgin tivo box that is in the living room from the comfort of my bedroom. The picture on the television in the bedroom is crystal clear and i am really pleased with this purchase.
I have now purchased three of these, one of which had an extra receiver for family. My father can now get sky in his kitchen and bedroom without paying an additional monthly fee. There is a slight delay so it it can be annoying when he has the sound loud in the kitchen and it can still be heard in the lounge. Excellent picture and ability to operate the skybox from his bedroom so he can watch recordings or change the channel. Will wait and see what sky q does before purchasing any more.
Very pleased with the product after having used it for a few months. I’m only distributing the signal around 5 metres/15 yards but that is through 3 brick walls and the quality is great. I see that the manufacturer now has support for multiple receivers from a single transmitter but i haven’t tried that yet. Be aware that if the transmitting tv and receiving tv are in close proximity then there is a slight delay in sound & picture in the receiving tv.
Works with sky q straight out of the box. Also has pass through on the transmitter so you can still watch on the tv next to the sky box. You can watch both tvs at the same time (same channel) and the sky remote works on both tvs too. Sky remote on streaming tv is slightly slower but works fine. I really can’t recommend this enough. No firmware update required.
Ordered, installed and hey presto hd in the next room – voilastart telling all my geeky friends how great it is and how it even works on the xbox one hdmi passthrough. Sadly however after two to three weeks of omg how does it do it it failed. Now i have to spend 45 mins faffing around with several resets to get it going again. I thought it was perhaps radio interference so i disable/powered off all wifi & radio devices in the house but this made no difference. I have requested a refund/return and await a response and am quite gutted as this was going to be the answer to my prayers. The quest for the holy grail of wireless hdmi continues. (btw the ir passthrough works but is v slow)gutted :-(.
Mainly because of its price tag in contrast with other unsatisfactory products and solutions i have attempted, i purchased the provison movie sender with some hesitation. I have a largish household on 3 ranges. Its old so a mixture of the two strong and lath and plaster walls. The provision arrived previously these days and having established it up i can honestly say i have been stunned at its general performance. I positioned the transmitter on the floor floor of the home and then examined the receiver in just about every of 4 leading flooring rooms, then in 3 floor flooring rooms and ultimately in two basement rooms. 1 of the rooms examined is an business office in which there are three pc’s completely jogging, as effectively as fifty percent a dozen wifi and blue tooth related gadgets also running. The provison has labored flawlessly in each individual location. No other item i have formerly made use of has matched that functionality. I know from looking at critiques that some senders look to get the job done correctly in one predicament but not in an other, so i are unable to assure that the provision will be ideal for you. I can only give my genuine experience in the hope it is of some guidance.
Just a short critique to point out that this is an fantastic solution. I need to have to mail sky+ recordings to one more area by a single wall and a length of about seven metres. 4ghz primarily based sender experienced terribly with interference when the microwave was on. One more manufacturer’s sender utilising ‘spread spectrum’ – what ever that is – solved the microwave interference but couldn’t manage a very good sign so photo excellent was lousy. So, though i did not want to expend this substantially, just after looking at a lot of constructive evaluations i thought i might consider the provision sender. And in this situation you do get what you shell out for. Picture top quality is as very good as if seeing with the sky box plugged instantly into the television set – what a lot more could you inquire for.
Fantastic quality picture but unstable connectivity and weak ir blaster – our wireless hdmi prestagio unit gave up the ghost a few months back again gave about 3 yrs additional or considerably less faultless support – for £70 i hasten to include. The provision device experienced fantastic favourable testimonials but a small on the high-priced side at £230 – i experienced substantial expectations for this substitution – set up was quick and quick and frequently this has a notably outstanding resolution and definition ( to the older prestagio). Having said that – the device absolutely will not enjoy other devices inhabiting the 5g bandwidth – typically it will just perpetually leap in between tv and blank monitor as i assume it searches out its signal. This requires a reset on the two gadgets then your ,ah have several days issues totally free viewing ahead of it just presents up yet again since i transpired to use my ipad nearby (admittedly it is really a fast paced setting at home with up to eighteen products managing on wifi) – it’s better if all your wireless equipment accords to two. 4g but for contemporary setups that’s a step again truly. Not confident what compression regimen of codec it makes use of but panning scenes endure that (hard to explain) jump in body level – i can only explain this working experience as like a scene is taking part in conventional 25fps then a a little sped up element follows with that artificial come to feel of it’s possible a household camcorder – never ever experienced such a problem with the old sender. By considerably the worst detail about this kit is the ir blaster it can be slow and unstable in picking up channel selects off a common sky tv remote – this was faultless and responsive on the old prestagio now it really is infuriating having to angle the distant and unintentionally a repeat of 5 number transmit in batch as you’ve got no strategy if it truly is picked up your last assortment (certainly it is that gradual). Once again faultless and quite responsive on my now regrettably deceased prestagio models. Update to the most up-to-date firmware was simp,e and properly documented but manufactured tiny or no variance to these challenges which unfortunately plague what could have been a higher quality, pleasurable products,i am going to end on a sensible beneficial – the range is excellent and a robust sign can be had (when the unit is commonly behaving) but it is not going to enjoy any metallic obstructions in its line of sight (ironing airers are problematic when erected).
I wished to throw my virgin television set box to the bedroom and this does just the occupation. The length is about 10 meters via 2 breeze black ck partitions in a solitary level flat. It is a disgrace it only has 1 hdmi in so i had to blend it with an hdmi change so i could throw the dvd as properly but the key level is that the transmission performs very well. I had beforehand attempted the hdmi about powerline but that did not deliver a stable image or sound.
I was a bit apprehensive when i acquired this for the reason that it was a whole lot of money to pay back for a thing which may perhaps not work. Established up was easy right after i bought two hdmi cables (disgrace they were not provided). The transmitter is in my dwelling space and receiver in bed room above. Fantastic sign in the bed room correct from the commence and an additional reward that i can obtain additional receivers to prolong hd tv into other rooms.
I observed this pretty hard to set up. I go through the recommendations pretty carefully but the two units wouldn’t join. I attempted switching them off and on, and reinserting the cables. I even place them following to just about every other in the very same place, with no joy. I was just about to give up when, abruptly, they linked. I have no idea what i did to make them function. I have awful difficulty in my victorian house obtaining wifi to join in between flooring – i have to use extenders, and even then it is not great. But when these experienced connected, they have been rock strong.
