Remote was the standard slimline offering you get these days, however it feels better made and very responsive in comparison to the remote for my edifier speakers, for example. Remote has everything you need to control the super signal without having to use the controls on the unit itself. Build quality: for the offer price at the £160 mark all i can say is “wow”. It is weighty and the wood finish is first class in looks and touch. The grille feels thin but solid and the dial, joystick & buttons are all plastic but well constructed and have the correct quality feel when you push them / turn the volume dial. The buttons do not give you that cheap hollow feeling when used. Everything here is well engineered. The display is crisp and scrolls out plenty of information when using dab. The pico rs had been discontinued 5 years ago and a repair was impossible, so i thought in all that this was fair. Revo did, however, offer me a fantastic deal on the super signal in walnut and black, so i promptly ordered. The fact the super signal does not have internet radio was not a concern at all, i think we used it just the once on the pico. Sound quality was my prime concern and having read a few professional reviews, i had high expectations of this little beast. The package arrived the next day via dpd. My very high expectations were totally blown out the water. The sound quality is absolutely stunning. Yes, it might be a bit too bass heavy for some.

    Nice radio, i really like it aesthetically and the materials and build quality are good. The only thing that lets it down is the sound, there’s just no depth to it. I’ve got a small £30 bluetooth speaker which is actually better sound quality. Looks great and is fine as a bedroom alarm, but i think i’ll relegate it to the spare room and look for something with a bit more oomph. For the price i would expect much better audio.

    Until i listened to this radio, i never realised that you never really hear the percussive element of an acoustic guitar on recordings, even on my relatively good stereo downstair. Well, with this it’s just like the guitar is in the room with you. Bass is rich and everything seems very well balanced. Much less bright as a bedside clock than my old pure tempus that required a nd filter to be glued over the display to be bearable, sounds better too.

    1. Sounds fabulous, so much bass from one box i had to turn it down in the equaliser but even without doing that the music quality sounded excellent and the speech was crystal clear. Really nice look to it (obviously, depending on taste) different colour combinations are available but i chose the walnut as it went well with my decor and it’s a really lovely looking wood. Anything i didn’t like about it was the price, i would have given it 5 stars if it was a reasonable cost. It is quite frankly ridiculously overpriced, saying that, i’m not sending it back because it sounds fabulous and looks wonderful so maybe they’ve priced it at suckers like me?make sure you check the measurements though, physically this is not dainty (but not as big as its big brothers)i love it, i just wish it cost less.

Saving my pennies now for its bigger brother the superconnect and hoping they fit a gorillaglass screen or plastic with a decent scratchproof coating at very least in the meantime :-).

In this price category it has few peers, and comprehensively outperforms the pure equivalents. Set-up was fairly straightforward, with the time and date being set off the dab signal. Once set up the menu system allows easy access to all of the important settings, including equaliser settings (which were adequate but i would have liked to see more customisation). Listening to the radio in both dab and fm modes was a real pleasure, with detailed sound and a strong bass showing for such a small cabinet. Classical and acoustic performances really shined, and rock music was also handled well, although sounding a little more muddy due to its single driver design. The alarm setup is its only real stumbling point, despite having excellent customisation for radio selection and daily repeating alarms, setting of one time alarms was harder than it should be. To set an alarm for the following day only required not only a time, but a date which lead to some errors from this bleary eyed human who’s bedtime had long since passed. Hopefully revo will provide an update for a one time alarm that doesn’t require a date, or defaults to the following day. All in all, revo have shown a great understanding of its customers needs and produced a product punching well above its weight, only falling short because of its slightly frustrating alarm set up.

(a teeny bit base heavy but easily adjusted) rich and deep – turn it up and enjoy crystal clear dab. A few reviews have complained about the level of the brightness of the display – i haven’t found it a problem at all. All in all i wish i’d got this ages ago – if you’re unsure don’t be.

With one small caveat detailed below, i would highly recommend this radio. The tuner is very sensitive and picks up clearly more remote fm stations and had no problems finding 10s of digital stations without even extending the aerial. The unit is classy and well made in a retro style, that reminds me of the well made grundig radio i had as a teenager. It is a finely made tabletop radio, that can be used in the bedroom and comes with some useful alarm features. Please don’t assume that it is a clock radio, as for purely bedroom alarm use you may be disappointed. With only basic clock/sleep/alarm features, it’s great for occasional bedroom duties, but primary function is not a clock radio. It’s a small beautiful looking radio, that provides a sound that is much bigger than itself. So very happy with this great little radio – but like any mass produced product in china, revo’s quality control in my experience hasn’t been 100%.

    Nice radio, deserves 5 star for overall design, and the remote is a nice touch but, like someone else may have mentioned, the standby light at “dim” setting is too bright for a bedroom. There should be an “off” option with perhaps the ability to tap the snooze grill to momentarily display the time. I’m used to this functionality coming having previously owned a pure sonic 1xt dab radio. A firmware update should look into this. I was initially not able to get the touch-snooze to work, a bummed since this was the primary reason i bought this radio (again, from my pure sonic 1xt experience of such a convenience). I discovered this was because i had lazily just plugged in the power supply from the radio it was replacing (similar voltage outputs but that one was earthed) but it worked fine with the power supply that came with the radio (not earthed so double insulated)finally, i think there should be a light wood option other than the walnut and white cases to match neutral bedroom decors. So just the one star removed for the standby clock dim light issue otherwise a great bedside radio. Edit: removed another star because the night light is really giving restless nights. I emailed revo support and they sent me a beta firmware which allows you to specify the standby light off. Touching the radio front panel in the middle of the night to see the time will display the time for about a minute.
