    The base on this is so impressive. The volume is perfect for a large kitchen. I am definitely going to pair with the one. After listening to the one in john lewis i must admit i was very impressed with both. This one probably just has alittle more power and volume for a larger room. Great looking and very easy to pair with the app.

      1. Great product with fantastic sound. Could maybe do with an upgrade to the style so it looks more sleek round the edges like the play 5 but you buy for the sound not the look.

    The sonos systems do exactly what they say on the tin. Easy to use, really rock solid app on the phone os (windows 10 version, appears more buggy). Would strongly recommend that if you are deploying these, then make sure that at the least one of the devices is hard wired into your network. Personally, i now have several of these and since had wiring the sonos connect in, which was flaky, the rest of the sonos devices work far better. My wifi signal is strong all over the house, but this is achieved via extenders and it seems that this causes sonos some issues, especially the connect. Now the connect is rock solid and the other devices are all far less likely to have issues, indeed, most problems are solved at the phone and not by the need to power down the sonos device itself.

    What the amazing play:1 is like just with more bassy oomph. However, given the choice i would choose the play:1 over this as there is actually very little difference. And my god, get 2 play ones for an extra £50 is very worth it. The only thing i would justify is the play:5 over the play:1.

    I had extremely high expectations of this speaker – i’d say they were almost met but not quite to the standard i’d hoped. Still glad i made the purchase though. Still one of the best speakers that works with alexa seamlessly.

Sounds as good and my q acoustic lounge set up – maybe not quite as powerful however how loud do you want to go. ? the sonos app is user friendly and can link all your music services. These speakers are expensive however you get what you pay for and these will hopefully last for years.

    I’m giving this 3 stars for the depth of sound i’d expect from a £250 speaker. The functionality, which is what you’re paying for with sonos is excellent and i find the app and setup extremely easy. The problem was simply that at full volume, this single speaker was not punchy enough to fill my kitchen / living area which only measures 6m x 5m. In a room of this size you must require the play 5. I bought my son a play 1 for christmas and to be honest, i dont see any difference in the sound quality and as another reviewer suggested, you’d be far better off buying a stereo pair of play 1 speakers for around the same price. I’m a sonos fan, but the play 3 just seems pointless. If you want big sound, buy the play 5. Otherwise the play 1 is the best option and is almost £100 cheaper then the 3.
